Woman dies after 'taking unwell' at Ibrox during Rangers v Aberdeen clash

A woman has died after 'falling ill' during the Rangers v Aberdeen game at Ibrox on Wednesday.

Emergency services were called to reports of a woman taking unwell at the stadium in Glasgow's southside on January 15. The 39-year-old was taken to hospital where she sadly passed away.

Her death is currently being treated as unexplained, however, there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding it. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "On Wednesday, January 15, 2025, we received a report of a woman having taken unwell at a match at Ibrox Stadium.

"Emergency services attended and the 39-year-old woman was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where she died.

"The death is being treated as unexplained but not believed to be suspicious and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
