Woman disappears from Southwark leaving family 'in agony' worry

A woman from South East London has been missing for eight days, and her sister has made a desperate appeal to help find her. Ameratu Conteh, 27 was last seen at her family home in Southwark on Thursday, October 31 at 12pm and left without her phone or any money.

Her disappearance is completely out of character, her family said. At the time of her disappearance, Ameratu was described as black, 5’5” – 5’6” with a stocky build. She has a mark on one of her hands. She was last seen wearing red coat/ jacket, an orange/grey hijab, a black t-shirt with flowers on the arms, black leggings and white high shoes.

Ameratu’s sister, Posseh, shares this statement: “It has been eight agonising days since our loved one Amie has gone missing. As each day passes, our worry grows more profound. She is considered to be high-risk, heightening the urgency of locating promptly. Time is of the essence in this case, and every effort is being made to find her safe and sound.

“Amie is known in various areas in South East London, such as Surrey Quays, Deptford, Lewisham, Peckham, Walworth, and Brixton. In this urgent time, we are appealing to anyone who may have seen her or possesses any information that could aid in her discovery to please call the police immediately quoting 8461/31OCT24.

“Your cooperation could be pivotal in reuniting our missing family member with us. We appreciate your assistance and understanding during this challenging period.”
