Woman due in court accused of carrying knife in Airdrie supermarket

A woman has been arrested and charged for allegedly carrying a knife in an Airdrie supermarket.

At around 4.20pm on Sunday, November 17 officers attended an address on Old Union Street, Airdrie, following a report of a female in possession of a knife.

Police then received a further call about the same female allegedly carrying a knife within a local supermarket.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Following enquiries a 44-year-old woman was traced a short time later within her home address."

The accused was due to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court today (Monday, November 18).
