It’s not necessarily losing weight which is the hardest aspect of a diet but maintaining a healthy lifestyle after shedding the pounds.

According to recent research, 75 percent of those who lose over seven stone are likely to return to their previous weight within the space of just three years.

But one woman beat the odds and in a desperate bid to stay on track, decided to sell her clothes on Facebook as a strict reminder to keep moving in a positive direction.

Louise, 34, weighed 18 stone and 4 pounds at the beginning of her weight loss journey. And after being recommended Slimming World by a friend, she gradually began to shed weight.

In order to motivate herself to maintain a healthier lifestyle, she decided to sell her clothes using Facebook’s Buy and Sell pages along the way.

And it was just the boost she needed, as she lost over five stone in the first year and two years on, now weighs a healthier 12 stone, 7 pounds.

But losing weight wasn’t her only positive gain from the experience, as Louise also earned over £600 from selling her old clothes online. Originally only fitting size 24 clothes, she now flaunts her figure in size 12 garments.

In light of her weight loss journey, Louise said: “I have always been overweight but one day something just clicked. I get so many compliments now and although it feels weird, it has all worked out for the better.”
