Woman fighting for life after being hit by car in horror Glasgow crash

A woman is fighting for her life after being hit by a car on a busy Glasgow road.

The woman was mowed down on Duntreath Avenue, just south of where the road crosses Great Western Road, at around 2pm on Friday, September 13.

The 42-year-old was struck by a silver Ford Kuga. The driver of the car was not injured.

Emergency services attended and the 42-year old woman was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

Medical staff at the QEUH describe her injuries as life-threatening.

Police are appealing for information and have asked those who were in the area at the time to come forward.

Sergeant Andrew Coutts said: “We believe there were a number of people around at the time of the crash and we are asking anyone in the area at the time who can assist with our investigation to get in touch.

“We are also asking people to check their private CCTV and dash-cam footage and contact us if they have anything that could help with our enquiries.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1823 of September 13.
