A woman is fighting for life after a crash on the A385 near Totnes

A Brixham woman in her 70s is believed to have suffered life-threatening injuries following a two-vehicle crash that overturned a car onto its roof on the A385 near Totnes. Emergency services were called to the scene at around 8.40pm yesterday, Saturday, May 25.

The collision involved a silver Honda Civic and a silver Honda Jazz. Two men in their 20s, the driver and passenger in the Honda Civic, sustained minor injuries in the collision.

The road remained closed overnight in both directions while a police investigation was carried out. According to travel news alert service Inrix, the location of the crash was between Blackpost Lane in Berry Pomeroy and Southfield, in Totnes.

The road is believed to have reopened around 8am today, Sunday, May 26. Earlier this morning, police told how officers had worked with other services, including fire and ambulance, to remove a trapped woman from her vehicle.

In its latest statement, Devon and Cornwall Police said: "The driver of the Honda Jazz, a female in her 70s, from the Brixham area, sustained what are believed to be life-threatening injuries and was conveyed to Derriford Hospital.

"The driver of the Honda Civic, a male in his 20s and the front seat passenger of the vehicle, also a male in his 20s, sustained minor injuries and were released at the scene.

"Anyone with any relevant information or dash-cam footage which may assist the investigation is asked contact police via our website or by calling 101 quoting log number 943 of 25 May."
