Woman finds 'secret room' behind bathroom mirror after noticing 'problem'
A woman was left aghast after she uncovered a mysterious room concealed behind her bathroom mirror, prompted by an unusual draft in her New York City apartment.
Taking to social media, she chronicled how inexplicable blasts of chilly air from her bathroom led her on a detective quest for the cause.
In her shared post, the woman recounted, "I'm in my New York City apartment and it's cold. It doesn't matter how high the heat goes, I'm cold. I walk into my bathroom and I feel cold air blowing on me. There's not a vent or anything so I feel here [the doorway], and there's cold air coming through this hole - so I tape it up."

However, her initial fix was futile, failing to halt the peculiar drafts, which led her to further inspect her bathroomeventually finding that the airflow originated behind her mirror. In a gripping follow-up video, she is filmed dislodging the mirror to disclose an alarming aperture in the wall.
As she communicated to her friends on camera, she divulged, "There's a room back there.", reports the Mirror.
An intrigued friend posed the question, "What if someone's living in there right now? " Driven by curiosity, she ventured through the wall gap, contorting to enter the hidden space, only to discover it was indeed an entire apartment laying unoccupied.
While the flat appeared almost bare, she observed a scattering of empty boxes and bin bags throughout. She commented: "It's freezing in here. Wow, this is a whole other apartment."
Safely locking up behind her, she anticipated an 'interesting' conversation with her landlord the following morning.
Social media users chimed in on her discovery; one remarked: "i would have just secured that space and had a double apartment for free. If you can confirm it's basically walled off and no one seems to know about it, score! " Another queried: "Is that a one-way mirror? ".
Yet another added their story: "I once knew a guy who bought an old office building. He soon realized there was a lot of space missing and eventually discovered a hidden 1920s speakeasy."
And one more echoed the sentiment of unexpected fortune: "WTF! Is this for real? If so, I'd secretly take over the apartment. By the looks of it she more than doubled her living space. What's the worst that could happen? ".
