Woman found dead in block of flats in Glasgow as police probe 'unexplained' death

A woman has been found dead in a block of flats in Glasgow.

Emergency crews were called to the discovery at a property on Elmvale Street in the Sprinburn area at around 10.15am on Monday.

Paramedics attended and a woman was found dead at the scene.

Officers are currently treating her death as unexplained.

Inquiries are at an early stage.

Police remain in the area.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland told our sister title, Glasgow Live: "An investigation is under way following the discovery of a woman's body within a flat in Elmvale Street, Glasgow.

"Officers were notified around 10.15am on Monday, 26 August, 2024.

"The inquiry is at an early stage and the death is being treated as unexplained. Officers remain in the area and enquiries are ongoing."
