Woman found dead in vehicle in Cornwall

A woman has been found dead in a vehicle in Cornwall today, Friday, May 31. A large police and ambulance presence was seen in Playing Place, near Truro, this morning, following reports of concerns for the welfare of a woman in a vehicle.

Police were called at 11.10am. A woman in her 60s was pronounced deceased at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed and an investigation into the death will take place.

The woman's death is not being treated as suspicious. Police will continue to liaise with HM Coroner and an inquest into her death will take place.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police were called at around 11.10am on Friday 31 May following a concern for welfare for a woman in a vehicle in Playing Place near Truro.

"The ambulance service was also called to the scene. Sadly the woman, in her 60s, was declared deceased at the scene. Her next of kin has been informed. The death is not being treated as suspicious. Police will continue to liaise with HM Coroner."
