Woman given 12-month ban from all pubs after 'nasty' Caernarfon attack
A woman has been banned from all pubs for a year after a "nasty and vile" attack in Caernarfon. Lisa Owen was on the Maes when she punched another woman, leaving her with a black eye which needed stitches.
Owen, 24, of Priory Terrace, Caernarfon, admitted assault occasioning actual bodily harm in the early hours of January 6 this year. Prosecuter Richard Edwards said the victim had been out with her sister in the Albert pub and had got into a dispute with Owen.
The victim left after midnight to go home, and Owen approached her outside, saying she "wanted a word". She punched her twice to the face, possibly with rings on her fingers, after a verbal exchange.

She walked away to her sister's car where Owen punched her again through a window. She was taken to hospital and collapsed in A&E, becoming unconscious and needing a CT scan. She needed stitches for an injury above her left eye.
The victim now felt vulnerable, has panic attacks and said the attack had destroyed her self confidence, the court heard in a victim impact statement. Elen Owen, defending, quoted a pre-sentence report which said Owen, who was still just 24, "has to learn how to appropriately respond to feelings of being wronged without resorting to physical violence".
The defendant also had three children, taken into care which had "significantly affected her mental health". She had also been homeless and in temporary accommodation, but now had a two-bedroom flat in Bethesda, referred to as a "moving on flat".
Judge Nicola Jones said it was "an impulsive and short lived assault" in a public place on the Maes, which had left a substantial impact on the victim, with a "serious physical injury". The judge said it was a "nasty vile attack". But the judge accepted Owen had suffered trauma in childhood, had no relevant previous convictions and had a chance of rehabilitation.
She sentenced Owen to 12 months in prison, suspended for 12 months, banned her from all public houses for 12 months, 20 rehabilitation requirement days, alcohol abstinence monitoring requirement for 120 days and a mental health treatment requirement.
Owen was also given a restraining order from contacting the victim for 12 months.
