Woman Gives Birth in Ukraine Metro Station Underpass

A woman who gave birth in a metro station in Kyiv, Ukraine, on May 12, is doing well, a police officer who attended the scene said.

Police on duty at the Lisova metro station said they heard cries for help and found a 23-year old woman in labor on the floor of the metro underpass.

The woman was assisted by police officers, passers-by and metro station workers.

Police officer Mykola Shlapak, who attended the scene, said the mother and baby were doing well in hospital.
