Woman hits person with car after argument, police say

DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN) — A Dothan woman is behind bars after police say she hit a woman with her car after an argument over a man.

On Monday, March 18, patrol officers rushed to the 2000 block of Aberdeen Drive in Dothan after receiving a report of a woman being hit by a car.

According to Dothan Police, 25-year-old Nakeima Thomas hit the woman with her car and knocked her into the bushes after she came out of her home to confront Thomas about a fight they had on Sunday.

Police say Thomas’ car got stuck in the mud, and when she realized she couldn’t drive away, Thomas broke into the woman’s vehicle, stole her keys, and threw them to an unknown location before taking a piece of wood and hitting the woman’s car.

A release from the DPD revealed the incident stemmed from an ongoing argument the two women had over a male acquaintance.

When DPD and Dothan Fire Medics arrived, they determined the woman had no severe injuries.

Thomas was arrested on the scene and charged with attempted assault in the first degree and unlawful breaking into a motor vehicle. She was booked into the Houston County Jail on a $30,000 bond.
