Woman left 'needing surgery' after North Staffordshire dog attack

A woman had to undergo surgery after being attacked by a dog on a North Staffordshire street. Now police are working to find out who the dog belongs to following the incident in Madeley.

The victim was on The Holborn, by the junction with Poolside, when she was bitten. Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident which occurred at around 12.15pm on November 14.

PCSO Colin Hodgkinson, of Newcastle Local Policing Team, said: "Staffordshire Police are appealing for any witnesses to an incident in Madeley where a female was bitten by a dog causing an injury to her leg which needed surgery. The dog is described as beige in colour and of small to medium in size. Any information as to who this dog belongs to can be passed to ourselves."

Anyone with information should call the police on 101 and quote incident number 365 of November 20.
