An honest mistake? Thinking a coyote who wandered into the neighborhood was a dog that got lost, a woman caught the wild animal and brought it into her home.

Gina Mckee posted two photos to Facebook on Tuesday in an attempt to find its owner. Little did she know, the coyote is a strong independent feral beast who don’t need no owner.

“Found dog for a while now. I’ve been seeing him walking around so I decided to catch him,” she wrote. “I think he was abused because he is aggressive and tried to bite me.”

Um, it’s possible he tried to bite you BECAUSE HE IS A COYOTE. AND HE IS TRAPPED IN YOUR HOUSE. AND YOU ARE IN THE HOUSE WITH HIM. GINA, ARE YOU OK?

Mckee’s niece posted a photo of her aunt’s Facebook post to Twitter. “Is anyone gonna tell my aunt she caught a coyote?” she asked. The post garnered more than 35,000 retweets.

We hope both Gina and her new coyote friend are doing fine!
