Indulging in a manicure is a delightful but often pricey experience. However, one thrifty shopper has discovered a cost-effective solution for stellar nails by turning to Primark.

TikTok user Teigan Hamilton, known as @Teig4444 on the platform, shared a video flaunting her beautifully done nails. She boasts that she's "saved nearly £300" by swapping out salon visits for trips to her local Primark.

In her post, she said: "The biggest money saver - Primark's £1.80 nails. I chronically got acrylics for 4+ years. This has saved me so much money. It only takes two minutes once a week to put them on and change them. They are so durable. I will never go back."

What she's referring to is Primark's extensive collection of press-on nails that can be found in most of their outlets throughout the UK, reports the Mirror. Customers can choose from an array of patterns, various nail shapes - and there are even seasonally themed options like these perfect for Halloween.

Buying a set each week at £1.80 totals £93.60 for a year. When compared with regular salon price tags of over £30 per session, it's no surprise that Teigan is thrilled about her '£300 saving'.

She offered some advice in the comments, stating "it's about the prep" when asked how she achieves a salon-worthy look. She continued: "You need to proper dehydrate your nails and use a ROUGH nail file, thin layer of glue all over the nail bed AND inside the nail and press and hold for 30-40 secs".

Another user, Emma, added her own tip for those tempted by this method She said: "Put a couple of coats of clear gel over the top! Makes them thicker and stops chipping!"

Primark claims that the nails should last around seven days. But, with proper care, they should be able to last a little longer.

When it's time for a change, Teigan revealed she can just "pop them off" with a "cuticle pusher and a "long hot bath". She also recommended people "get cuticle cutters too cos sometimes pieces do not want to come off".

Her video has been viewed thousands of times and sparked interest among people willing to swap their nail salon for Primark. One viewer described the nails as "cute", while another commented that "you'd never know they're from Primark".
