Woman Rescued by Helicopter After Injuring Leg on Snowy Slopes in Subarctic Norway

A woman was flown to hospital after injuring her knee in a skiing accident in the subarctic alps of Jordalen, Norway, on Saturday, December 12.

This footage shows a rescue helicopter landing on a snow-covered mountain. The woman is then helped into the helicopter and transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The owner of this footage, Hans Frederik Bjarkøy, told Storyful that the video “was shot just 50 minutes after calling the Norwegian emergency number.”

He then went on to identify the woman in the video as his girlfriend. He said that she was suffering from a torn ACL and MCL, which explained her “extreme pain” and inability to walk, as seen in the video. Credit: Hans Frederik Bjarkøy via Storyful
