Woman rushed to hospital after drinking 'corrosive liquid' in Kennington
A woman has been rushed to hospital after drinking a suspected corrosive liquid at a home in Kennington. Police rushed to the scene on Walworth Road after receiving reports at 11.30am this morning (Saturday, January 25).
Officers and paramedics attended, and the woman was rushed to hospital. Her condition is now stable, the Metropolitan Police confirmed.
Police have closed the road, put a cordon in place and undertaken safety procedures while specialist officers deal with the incident.

An investigation is now underway but there have not been any arrests, police said.
Officers in hazmat suits were spotted at the scene.
A Met Police spokesperson said: "Police and London Ambulance Service were called at 11:30hrs to reports of a woman having drunk a suspected corrosive liquid at an address in Walworth Road, Kennington.
"Safety procedures and cordons, as well as road closures, were established while specialist officers dealt with the incident. The woman was taken to a hospital by LAS where her condition is stable.
"Enquiries into the circumstances of the incident are ongoing. There have been no arrests."
