Woman rushed to hospital after hit-and-run crash in Yeovil

A woman has been rushed to hospital after a hit-and-run car crash in Yeovil. Avon and Somerset Police have launched an investigation into the collision which took place on New Year's Eve.

A dark blue car collided with a female pedestrian in Christopher Close shortly before 5pm. It then fled onto Preston Road and headed towards Larkhill Road.

The woman was taken to hospital and received treatment for bruising. She has since returned home to continue her recovery.

Avon and Somerset Police said: "Officers have conducted CCTV enquiries in the area and are now urging anyone who has any footage in the area at the time or anyone who witnessed the incident to speak to them.
