Woman rushed to hospital after pedestrian hit by a car in Chelmsford
A woman was taken to hospital after being hit by a car this morning in Chelmsford. The pedestrian was reportedly knocked down on the A1060, Parkway on the westbound carriage and is now receiving further treatment.
East of England Ambulance Service confirmed that they were called to the scene just before 7am this morning. They confirmed that they attended the scene and that the woman involved was taken to hospital by ambulance.
A spokesperson for the service shared: “We were called just before 6.55am with reports that a pedestrian had been hit by a car on the junction of Parkway and Moulsham Street in Chelmsford. Two ambulances were sent to the scene. An adult woman was transported to Broomfield Hospital for further assessment and treatment.”

Other emergency services attended the scene, as Essex Police worked alongside the ambulance service, closing the road. Essex Police shared: “We [were] on the scene of a serious collision involving a car and a pedestrian, at the junction of Parkway and Moulsham Street, in Chelmsford, shortly before 7am on Friday January 17. A road closure [was] in place while we [responded] alongside ambulance service colleagues.”
Although the woman was rushed to hospital in an ambulance, it remains unclear how severe her injuries were. The A1060 reopened shortly after 9am after being closed for a significant amount of time this morning, causing heavy delays to traffic.
