A woman has claimed she would have rather found out her boyfriend was cheating on her after receiving text messages he had intended to send to a friend.

Many of us worry about accidentally texting someone something that was intended for someone else or, while discussing a person, unintentionally calling them. That fear became a reality for one man when he fired off seven messages meant for a friend but mistakenly sent them to his girlfriend instead.

Ginny Hogan, a New York-based writer and comedian, shared her personal story and it really resonated with some people.

Posting on Threads, Ginny shared: "My boyfriend just sent me seven texts in a row that were all intended for a friend. All seven were about how much he loved Nicolas Cage. I would have rather found out he was cheating."

While some followers expressed sympathy, laughing with her predicament, others couldn't believe she'd insult such a beloved Hollywood figure. One joked: "You don't deserve him," while another agreed: "I'm so sorry for your loss." One person even quipped: "If he was cheating would he have been Gone in 60 seconds?"

Nicolas Cage holds a legacy as one of the industry's luminaries. Regarded as the original 'nepo baby' due to his ties with the esteemed Coppola clan, he picked up his first Oscar for his role in Leaving Las Vegas and secured another nomination for Adaptation.

His most recent venture, Longlegs, has been lauded by movie enthusiasts, gaining an almost perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Directed by Osgood Perkins, the horror flick stars Maika Monroe alongside Cage and centres around an FBI agent on the heels of a serial killer with an occult penchant, targeting families across America.

One viewer took to social media to praise the film, commenting: "It's chilling in a way that crawls under our skin courtesy of Osgood Perkins' masterful blend of supernatural and psychological horror and one genuinely frightening performance from Nicolas Cage."

Notably, Longlegs marks Cage's most successful debut since 2007's National Treasure: Book of Secrets.

Meanwhile, Ginny's latest comedic offering, Regression, is up for streaming on platforms including Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, Dish, YouTube, Google Play, and others.
