A Scots woman has spread joy across Glasgow after scattering 'I am' affirmation bracelets around the city.

Popped in an envelope alongside a note which reads: 'You found me! I have scattered envelopes like this over the city to make the people of Glasgow smile', the bracelets are similar to those shared on the Taylor Swift Eras tour.

Beth McNeill - who is affected by anxiety and depression - aims to 'make people smile.

"Small simple acts of kindness really goes a long way. Especially with how mental health is these days and as someone that also is affected by anxiety and depression I think we need to be all connected and talking.

"We never know what someone is going through, if my bracelet puts a smile on someone’s face that is having a tough time or not it’s a win for me."

The 30-year-old education worker began making the bracelets for the widely popular Taylor Swift Eras tour and revealed she made over 70 to exchange at the Wembley gig.

She revealed that the hobby was supporting her mental health and was inspired by the kids she works alongside on a daily basis.

She told the Record: "In my job, I work with a variety of students from lots of different backgrounds. Kids nowadays don’t have the confidence or self belief, ultimately the potential I can see in them. So in my practice I’ve started “I am” affirmations to try and lift them up.

"I like to be that cheerleader for my students. I came up with the idea that if I can put these affirmations on bracelets it can be a lovely reminder on your wrist how wonderful a person you are, that you aren’t your anxiety, you can get through the day."

One member of the public who stumbled upon Beth's kind gesture in Elder Park was Catherine Stuart. Sharing a post on Facebook, she wrote: "Had the pleasure of finding this on Lady Elder's bench in the park today. Made me smile."

Beth also revealed people as far out as Canada have contacted her, praising the touching gesture, with others telling Beth 'I needed to see that, keep inspiring."

Beth has now revealed she aims to print the notes to distribute more about the city - "as the hand gets sore writing."
