Woman seriously injured after being hit by car near train station
A woman was taken to hospital after being hit by a car near a train station. Emergency services were called to Tunnel Road in Edge Hill, near to Edge Hill station, at around 8.05am on Thursday, January 30.
It followed reports a pedestrian, a woman, had been involved in a crash with a Silver Vauxhall Corsa. The woman has since been taken to hospital with a serious leg injury.
Merseyside Police conformed a 42-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of driving a motor vehicle when alcohol level is above the limit. Tunnel Road was closed for a period of time while emergency services dealt with the incident, however it has since reopened.

Police said they are now appealing for any witnesses, CCTV and dash camera footage which may assist the investigation.
