Woman sexually assaulted near Glasgow's Hydro as police tape off Clyde walkway

A section of the Clyde walkway near Glasgow's Hydro has been cordoned as police launch investigation into the serious sexual assault of a woman.

Emergency services rushed to the scene on Congress Road yesterday evening (May 31) after receiving reports of the attack. Officers are still present at the scene.

Images taken from the scene shows a cordon surrounding a large area near to the SEC Armadillo and Hydro. No arrests have been made following the incident.

One witness told Glasgow Live: "Clydeside at the SEC Armadillo is taped off by police and a large section off bushes is cordoned off with four police officers guarding it."

An investigation into the incident is still ongoing

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of a serious sexual assault of a woman in the Congress Road area of Glasgow on the evening of Friday, 31 May, 2024.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
