A woman is suing her 12-year-old nephew over a HUG that left her with a broken wrist.

Jennifer Connell, a Manhattan human resources manager, is asking for a six-figure sum after the “very loving” boy embraced her at his eighth birthday party.

By leaping into his aunt’s arms, the boy is said to have knocked her to the ground – an act her court papers describe as “negligent” and careless”.

Connell testified that he approached her shouting: “‘Auntie Jen, Auntie Jen!’

“I remember him shouting, ‘Auntie Jen, I love you,’ and there he was flying at me.

“All of a sudden he was there in the air, I had to catch him and we tumbled onto the ground.”

The 54-year-old is suing the boy, Sean Tarala, for $127,000

Connell testified that she did not complain at the time, but she said her life had been “very difficult” since the injury because of “how crowded it is in Manhattan”.

“I was at a party recently, and it was difficult to hold my hors d’oeuvre plate,” she said.
