Woman taken to Glasgow hospital after three-vehicle crash closed east end road

A woman has been taken to hospital and a man has been arrested after a three-vehicle crash in the east end of Glasgow.

Emergency services shut off Tollcross Road, at its junction with Maukinfauld Road, at around 2.30pm on Saturday, February 1.

A 30-year-old woman, one of the drivers, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

A 31-year-old, another driver, was charged and taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary to be checked over. He is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, February 3, following the crash.

The road has since reopened to traffic.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Tollcross Road has re-opened following a three-vehicle crash at the junction with Maukinfauld Road, reported to police around 2.35pm on Saturday, 1 February.

"Emergency services attended and a 30-year-old woman, one of the drivers, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

"A 31-year-old man, one of the drivers, was arrested and taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary to be checked over.

"He was subsequently charged in connection with road traffic offences and is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, 3 February, 2025."
