Woman taken to hospital after being hit by van

A woman was taken to hospital after being hit by a van. Emergency services were called to Stonebridge Lane, near its junction with Stonedale Crescent, in Croxteth at around 9am today, Monday, November 11.

It followed a report a van had been involved in a crash with a woman on the road. The woman, aged in her 60s, was taken to hospital and a road closure was in place. The driver of the van stopped at the scene.

Pictures showed a cordon near to the row of shops on Stonebridge Lane and at a bus stop further down the road. Several police officers were also at the scene.

A police scene, which is understood to be separate to this, was also in place on Stonedale Crescent. It is understood officers were carrying out a search at derelict houses on the street. A dog unit was also in the area.
