Woman's disappearance 'out of character' as search enters third day

Police have described the disappearance of a Scots woman missing for over three days as "out of character".

Anne MacDonald, 55, who is missing from Irvine, was last seen in the Kilwinning Road area around 11.30am on Monday, June 3.

Officers are becoming increasingly concerned for her.

She is described as white, around 5ft 5in tall, of medium build, with long black hair with purple ends. She was last seen wearing a long-sleeved, blue denim dress with buttons down the centre.

Sergeant Catriona Eaglesham, Irvine Police Office, said: “This is out of character for Anne to be missing and we’re urgently trying to trace her.

“I’m appealing to anyone who has information on Anne’s whereabouts or who thinks they may have seen her since Monday morning to get in touch.

“Anne, if you see this appeal, please contact police so we can make sure you’re safe and well.”
