A woman has taken to social media to share her distressing find while going about her chores. On the popular platform TikTok, user Lauren McCulloch uploaded a video that holds elements truly terrifying for anyone with a fear of spiders.

"Folding clothes and find this spider, 2 minutes later I find eggs, why me?" She told viewers in the caption. In the clip, she documents her process of sorting through various items of clothing strewn across what appears to be her bed, each one to be folded and put away.

But nestled within a grey T-shirt emerges a brown spider, with its spindly legs stretching out from the fabric folds. Disturbed by Lauren's flashlight, it retreats further into the garment.

However, Lauren's ordeal doesn't end there as she stumbles upon a cluster of eggs on her jumper. The camera zooms in onto a green knitted jumper, revealing a dense packet of webs filled with cream-coloured eggs.

The shocking spectacle sparked quite the reaction amongst viewers, who wasted no time in expressing their horror. Viewer Chloe lamented: "Never seen a spider like that before.. the clothes would have been out the window with the spider, bye bye."

Olivia echoed: "I would've cried." While Charlotte stated resolutely: "I would move house." A viewer named Vicki joked with the host: "Girl you need to put a trigger warning. I nearly died."

Nevada candidly admitted: "My worst fear." Beccs exclaimed: "I'd set my house on fire and run." Amber chimed in with her concern: "No omg what did u do this is my worst fear am so random but I need to know."

Another individual expressed their hope by saying: "Please tell me this is not the UK. please. please. please." It appears from Lauren's TikTok page that she resides in Scotland.

The spider featured in the video is likely a giant house spider, known as one of the fastest and largest spiders found in Britain and across Europe. These arachnids can scuttle at speeds reaching nearly 2ft/s. They are known for spinning messy webs that feature a funnel-like structure where they lurk, waiting to ambush their prey.

In a separate spider encounter, one woman found a living spider and its eggs while shopping for new clothes. As she was hunting through some clothing racks, TikToker Ellen Danz - known as Els22022 on the app - couldn't help but scream upon discovering what was lurking between the leggings and sports bras she was looking at on the railing.
