The missing 13-year-old boy has not been named but phoned his heartbroken mother after he saw his picture in an appeal montage that was displayed on screens during a performance by the Missing People Choir on the ITV talent show last weekend.

Speaking to The Sun newspaper, Amanda said: “I literally burst into tears when I found out. They had us all in floods on the night with their breath-taking performance and message.

“But to think that what they’d set out to achieve by being on the show has now started to come in to fruition is a dream come true. I’ve not stopped thinking about them since they first performed and so I’m incredibly happy for them.”

“Of course though, it’s nothing compared to the happiness and relief the boy’s parents must be feeling. I hope more are reunited with their families and send them all the best wishes and love in the world. It just goes to show that, despite the dark times we are currently living in, there is always hope.”

This is the second time a positive result has come out of the choir’s appeal as another family received some news recently on Tom Moore – who has been missing since 2003 – after his photograph was shown on television during the their performance.

The family have now flown to Italy after they were told a homeless man living rough in Milan could possibly be their son.

The Missing People Choir was set up by the Missing People Charity and sees relatives and friends of people who vanished without a trace come together to share their pain through the magic of music.

The choir – which was pipped to the post by Tokio Myers in the ‘BGT’ final last week – have raised almost £7,000 since their first audition.
