'Women Are Property': Preacher's Signs Irk Students on Texas Campus

Signs reading “Homo Sex Is Sin” and “Women Are Property” irked students at Texas State University on Tuesday, November 6, dozens of whom gathered in protest against those holding them.

Footage shows tensions rising on campus, as someone confronts the demonstrators, asking, “Women are property? Who am I property of?”

According to The University Star, the demonstrators attracted a crowd of “at least 100 students” shortly after they arrived on campus.

The report said the demonstrators were members of the Official Street Preachers, a Christian news outlet.

Texas State University told the college newspaper that the institution is required by state law to uphold freedom of speech in public areas, “even if such speech may understandably offend some members of our campus community.” Credit: Storyful via Storyful
