There's nothing quite like a '00s romantic comedy, no matter how much we try to convince ourselves otherwise.
Which is why the news that What Women Want might be getting a gender-swapped remake is music to our nostalgic – and mildly ashamed – ears.
Yes, according to Deadline, Paramount is planning to spin the Nancy Meyers classic on its head, swapping Mel Gibson for Taraji P Henson in the starring role.
While the name isn't exactly the most ground-breaking thing we've ever heard – What Men Want – we're more than willing to overlook it for the sake of a much-needed chick flick update.
It's not just the lead who'll be different, though, as it's believed the plot will focus on Henson as a sports agent, rather than someone who works in advertising.
When Henson's character gains the (unenviable) power of being able to hear men's thoughts, she's able to use her new skill to her own advantage when signing the NBA's next superstar.
If Taraji does sign on to front What Men Want, then at least the actress is one step closer to achieving her dream of playing a superhero.
"I would love to be a Marvel superhero," she recently admitted. "I'm dying to get into some comedy. I think I'm a stronger comedic actress than a dramatic actress.
"You guys just fell for the drama side."
