"If I won the lottery I'd treat my dog to a round the world trip"

If I won the Lotto jackpot the first thing I’d do is race down to my local - Armstrongs in Battlefield, in the southside of Glasgow - and call my family to join me for a Tennents or three. Then I’d treat myself to a campervan and travel the world with my partner and my dog, Dizzy, ticking off bucket list locations, one by one.

Our year long sabbatical would start in Europe, exploring everywhere from Paris to Porto before driving on to Asia, admiring New Zealand’s breathtaking scenery and sailing on to South America.

My campervan isn’t an amphibious vehicle like the doomed amfibus on the Clyde; I’ll figure out logistics when my winning numbers come up, OK? But I can confirm my dog will enjoy a month travelling around the USA, and we may as well take in Canada while we’re up there.

After our year travelling the world, we’d move back to Scotland and buy our dream house in the Highlands. I'd like to live somewhere picturesque with plenty of scenic routes nearby for dog walks.

The home would have a swimming pool. Indoor, because I’m not as brave in cold water as Dizzy is. At some point I’d need to tell my close friends that I’m Scotland’s next Lotto millionaire, so that they could join me at my ridiculous new home for parties.

It’s not all 24/7 partying though: I have big plans to open a rescue centre for stray dogs. Dizzy is a Romanian rescue and it would be great to help support the incredible charities that work so hard to help give these animals a chance, finding them all families. Dizzy was rescued by a brilliant charity up in Newton Mearns, called Saving Romanian Strays, and I'd like to give something back to them. Spread the joy.

Further down the line I think it would be fantastic to open an animal rescue centre somewhere like Corfu, Kos or Rhodes. My Greek house would have an outdoor pool - hello sunshine. I’d like a quad bike for scooting around town, and maybe a speedboat too.

I'd also open a beach-front taverna and employ family and friends - if they wanted to join - to come and work for me. This is the ultimate dream: waking up everyday on a beautiful island, surrounded by beautiful people and soaking up the glorious sunshine.

And when the summer season finished up, I'd come back to my Highland mansion to visit my family and friends. I'd miss Scotland too much to leave forever. I'd come back for the winter months and spend Christmas with my loved ones, and visit Glasgow's endless pubs and restaurants.

I'd have to check in on Armstrongs too of course, and tuck back into a delicious Tennents. This all sounds fantastic and I've built up quite a thirst. Only one issue - does anyone have the numbers for Saturday’s Lotto draw so I can make this all a reality?
