The London premiere of the new Wonder Woman film has been cancelled in the wake of the Manchester terrorist attack.

Warner Bros has confirmed that it will not be proceeding with any of the planned promotional activities in the UK, scheduled for May 31.

Stars including Gal Gadot, Chris Pine and Robin Wright had been due to walk the red carpet at the Leicester Square premiere, as well as attending a photocall and press junket.

“Our thoughts are with those affected by the recent tragedy in the UK. In light of the current situation, we will not be proceeding with our plans for the Wonder Woman premiere and junket activities in London,” read a statement from Warner Bros.

The London premiere of The Mummy, starring Tom Cruise and Annabelle Wallis, is scheduled to take place in Leicester Square a day later, on June 1, but Universal is yet to confirm whether or not it will still be going ahead.

Prime Minister Theresa May has now raised the UK’s security threat from severe to critical following the terrorist attack at Manchester Arena following Ariana Grande’s concert on Monday night.

A number of bands have made the decision to cancel their shows this week, including Take That and Blondie.

Fans have been calling on Justin Bieber to cancel his forthcoming Hyde Park concert, due to take place on July 1.
