Wonder Woman will not have a post-credit scene - here's why

Thanks primarily to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, cinema goers have come to expect superhero films to conclude with post-credit scenes (even some non-superhero flicks, like Kong: Skull Island).

Speaking to Cinema Blend, Wonder Woman producer Charles Roven revealed the Patty Jenkins directed film will buck the ever-growing trend and not feature a tagged on scene.

“I'm not going to say we'd never do one,” he explained. “There was one in Suicide Squad. But I don't think that we want to feel that we're forced to do something just because we didn't in the past.”

Both Batman v Superman and Man of Steel didn’t have post-credit scenes; Suicide Squad featured a brief scene that saw Bruce Wayne talking with Amanda Waller.

Last week, the social media embargo surrounding Wonder Woman was dropped, the overall response being overwhelmingly positive.

Wonder Woman is the easily the best DCEU movie so far,” wrote Haleigh Foutch of Collider. “It's got heart and a love of heroes. Pine and Gadot are charming beyond measure.

Wonder Woman reaches UK cinemas 1 June.
