A teenager has been stabbed during a street fight outside a busy station in south London.

Police descended on Woolwich Arsenal station after reports of a fight there at about 7pm on Monday.

An 18-year-old man was found with a stab wound and taken to a south London hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, police said.

Social media was flooded with posts as the busy DLR station was cordoned off.

Witnesses reported seeing the London Air Ambulance attempting to land but flying away.

One described the victim was looking like a "school kid".

Another witness, David Wong, tweeted: "Bunch of teenagers in school uniform arguing outside #woolwich station and news that one of them got stabbed. Saw may people recording them as they where making quite a scene. Enough evidence I’m sure @metpoliceuk".

Ewen MacIntosh added: "Bad scenes at Woolwich. Lots of police, roads cordoned off, ambulance helicopter just departed."

And another Twitter user said: "Something has just happened in Woolwich right by the station. A section has been cordoned off. Please let it not be another life lost so stupidly..."

Scotland Yard said there had been no arrests.

In a separate incident on Monday evening, a 17-year-old girl was arrested after two girls of the same age were stabbed in west London.
