BEFORE BCP Council indulge themselves in yet more expensive grandiose commercial ventures with the new government grant money can I suggest part of the £18 million goes on a few tins of paint, packets of nails and gallons of weedkiller.

The fences, shelters and paths on Boscombe and Southbourne Overcliff Drives and the zigzags are in what can only be called a neglected and rundown state.

They must present a bit of an anti climax to anyone expecting to experience what council leaders rather blandly refer to as a world class resort?

I have been emailing councillors and officers for 18 months in the hope of getting something done but routine maintenance doesn’t seem to rank in the council’s priorities.
