World Cup: Rio Ferdinand worried about racist abuse during Qatar tournament

Rio Ferdinand admits he is worried that Black footballers playing in the 2022 Fifa World Cup will be subject to racist abuse if something goes wrong during the tournament.The former Manchester United and England defender spoke as he received an OBE at Windsor Castle for tackling social problems facing the nation’s youth."I'm worried about what could happen if something happens with a Black player, maybe, what's going to be the response of certain fans?" Ferdinand said."Listen, it's not all fans, but there are enough fans that make the noise that we can hear."
