World Fireworks Championships return to Blackpool tonight with a bang
The World Fireworks Championship in Blackpool returns this evening for a Finish extravaganza.
Every year, Blackpool brings together the top players in the fireworks industry for evenings of loud bangs, colour and spectacle. Starting on Saturday, September 7, the opening event saw Poland competing with their very own display.
The Polish team, Nakaja Art have more than 25 years of experience with staging firework displays across Europe and Central America. However, tonight is the turn of Finland, with Pyroman Finland Ltd displaying their artistry.
Pyroman Finland Ltd was established 20 years ago and is the country's leading supplier in pyrotechnics and special effects. As they are every year, these spectacles are all set to music and take place in front of the Blackpool Tower.
The event brings together some jaw-dropping displays in a family-friendly atmosphere as they are all free to access. The final display will take place on Saturday, October 5 with a show created by team USA.
Great Lakes Fireworks from Michigan have been lighting up the skies with their unique shows throughout Michigan and the Midwest for the past 20 years. Last year saw the Amir Morani Fireworks (AMFW) team from India win the Championship in India's first ever display in the UK.
Tonight, build-up will start from 7.30pm and firing will begin at approximately 8.30pm. Due to the event's popularity, there may be traffic delays in the lead-up and afterwards, so visitors are advised to leave plenty of time if travelling by car particularly if you are planning to park in a central area.
