Want chips with that? World's biggest hot dog weighs nine STONE

The U.S. are known for their love of junk food and excess - and judging by this gargantuan snack, that reputation won't be changing any time soon.

A wacky restaurant boss has set a record for the world's biggest hot dog - tipping the scales at enormous nine stone.

The sausage - which weighed in at more than three-and-a-half stone alone - was cooked for three hours on a 100ft mobile grill.

The giant bun, gallons of condiments, including ketchup, mustard and guacamole, and a sprinkling of onions were then added, which weighed considerably more than the sausage.

The epic snack's mass was recorded and sent to Guinness so it can officially be named the winning wiener.

Brett Enright, CEO of Juicy's Outlaw Grill in the US, created the $1000 (£600) hot dog, and already holds the world record for the largest commercially available hamburger.

'There's a guy in Chicago who had the previous hot dog record - I'm hoping he comes back and beats this so we can turn around and make an even bigger hot dog,' he said.

After the weighing, the giant meal was cut into individual servings and served to fairgoers for $1 (60p) a plate, with proceeds going to Miami Rescue Mission which provides approximately 950,000 meals a year.
