World's most attractive employers for new graduates

School is out for the summer, and newly-graduated college and university students are now on the hunt for their perfect job. While most students will be happy to take whatever work they can get, everyone has their dream employer in mind.

Universum conducted its annual survey of new graduates as part of its Most Attractive Employers ranking, speaking with 294,663 business and IT students in the world’s 12 largest economies: Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Russia, South Korea, the United Kingdom and the United States.

When considering which companies they find most appealing, business and IT students are looking for employers that offer stability, a good work/life balance and a strong local presence. Business students showed a strong desire to work with management and strategy consulting, banking and financial service businesses, with an increased interest in software, e-commerce and computer development compared to previous years. They most valued having high potential future earnings and a creative, dynamic work environment.

IT students want to work in software, industrial engineering, and manufacturing and aerospace industries, and showed a reduced interest in working in the automotive industry. They most valued having a creative and dynamic work environment (much like the business students) but also wanted a company that shows innovation.
