A father was left horrified when discovered that a tin of Nestle baby milk was full of wriggling insect larvae – having already fed the mixture to one of his 18-month old twins.

Taxi driver K Prem Annanth, from Sri Lanka was mixing the Nan Pro 3 milk powder for the second child when he discovered the insects writhing around, with food analysis later revealing that the mixture contained 28 live larvae.

Unsurprisingly, the child who drunk the milk was taken to hospital with a skin condition two days later.

Nestle have offered to replace the milk (because the first batch wasn’t off putting enough), and investigations into how the powder initially became contaminated are ongoing.
