SPOILER WARNING: This article contains full show match results for WWE SmackDown Live from the Fedex Forum in Memphis, Tennessee , which aired on Tuesday, June 12, 2018.

Yesterday on Monday Night Raw the players of Team Red had their last chance to impress before WWE Money in the Bank 2018.

Last night it was the turn of SmackDown Live to throw everything at us before climbing that ladder, as well as some final antics from AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura ahead of their (final?) title rematch.

Here are four things we learned on the MITB go home show.

1. As predicted, The New Day will keep us guessing till the last moment

We didn't expect to find out last night which of The New Day would be competing in the Money in the Bank ladder match, so we weren't disappointed.

With every single match on the card booked nearly a fortnight ago, we're happy that there's a little mystery going in to Sunday.

The New Day made their presence felt last night by sneaking a load of pancakes into the Money in the Bank briefcase, annoying the hell out of The Miz when he finally got to it.

So Big E, Kofi Kingston, or Xavier Woods, will have some surprise factor going in to the ladder match.

But with Braun Strowman, Finn Bálor, The Miz, Rusev, Bobby Roode, Kevin Owens and Samoa Joe being their opponents, we don't know how much that will count for.

Anyway, we're getting antsy now. Bring on Sunday.

2. WWE Money in the Bank 2018 should kick off a new era for women's wrestling on SmackDown Live

On Monday Night Raw this week, the men dominated with Braun Strowman's feats of strength being the big take-home story.

The women did get two matches (plus that Nia Jax/Ronda Rousey confrontation), and we only got one last night, but the show felt structured around the women.

Paige hosted a MITB summit for starters, and it all ended in a ten-woman tag match including both the ladder match contenders and the two participants in the title fight.

We're predicting that Asuka will make short work of Carmella on Sunday, while we're really not confident picking a winner in the ladder match.

But what we are predicting is a consolidation of the improved women's position on SmackDown, after months of us complaining about it.

With Paige as GM, Asuka firing all cylinders, a resurgent Becky Lynch, the emergence of Lana, the ex-Absolution duo making inroads, the IIconics causing trouble and more – plus the potential of a briefcase hanging over things, we're in for a treat.

3. There are still more dream matches floating about the WWE than you can shake a stick at

Yeah, the words "dream match" seem to have people's eyes rolling these days. Shinsuke Nakamura vs AJ Styles has only been going on since January but we're already kind of bored of it.

But the WWE in 2018 is filled with little dream matches all over the place that we'd never thought we'd see.

Daniel Bryan vs Shelton Benjamin isn't a main eventer on paper, but it's still an intriguing match up between two technical superstars and it absolutely delivered in the ring.

And while they just flung it out there on a Tuesday night with a low blow DQ finish and very little build, Jeff Hardy just wrestled Shinsuke Nakamura last night.

We love the talking, the ringside antics and the rest, but Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live are essentially wrestling shows.

Matches like these show off the countless possibilities and match-ups that we're lucky to enjoy week in and week out in the WWE.

4. AJ Styles is disintegrating and Shinsuke Nakamura will take advantage

First there was his total loss of cool during last week's contract signing.

Then, last night AJ Styles faced a simple question from a returning Jerry 'The King' Lawler and he exploded again.

While Styles knows that Nakamura has got to him, he simply can't do anything about it.

The Phenomenal One wrongly believes that he has the raw talent, heart and anger to finally put this one to bed.

But Shinsuke Nakamura is just as talented, even more hungry to finally become WWE Champion, and his trickery and malevolence can undercut AJ Styles's righteous indignation.

In letting Nakamura get into his head, Styles has finally made it possible for him to beat him.

Before the last fortnight we were tentatively picking Shinsuke for the win. No we're sticking our necks out completely.
