Wynonna Earp's showrunner and executive producer, Emily Andras, has confirmed that the show's current season will be its last.
The show started to air its fourth season last year, with the midseason finale in August 2020, and viewers have been waiting for the second half of the season. The last six episodes will begin airing on Syfy on March 5, with the finale set to air on April 9.
In a statement, Andras spoke about her time working on the show – as well as sharing her gratitude for the production team, the actors and the fans of Wynonna Earp.
"I'd like to thank our wonderful cast and crew, all of whom were instrumental in bringing Wynonna Earp to our loyal and passionate audience," Andras said (via Entertainment Weekly).
"We couldn't be prouder of these last six episodes on SYFY, and are thrilled to share them with our beloved fans, who have changed our lives forever. I have been honored to tell Wynonna and her family's story, and along with Seven24, Cineflix and CTV Sci-Fi, are hopeful we can continue to share their inspiring tales in the future."
Wynonna Earp's fourth season had a number of setbacks in the production and finance of the show – however, fans previously campaigned to make sure that the show's current season was secured.
Melanie Scrofano, who has the leading role as Wynonna Earp, wrote on Twitter: "I'm really proud of what we've accomplished over these four seasons and so excited to get to watch the second half of season 4 together. There will be tears but there will also be laughs. And crop tops. And family."
Wynonna Earp's final episodes will air on Syfy from March 5.
