X Factor 2016: Rylan Clark-Neal teases ‘£2 million’ Xtra Factor return

The 28-year-old star – who has his own showbiz segment on This Morning alongside presenting duties on Celebrity Big Brother’s Bit On The Side and his late night chat show Up Late With Rylan – admitted he viewed the Xtra Factor job as a “one year thing”, but could be persuaded to sign up for another series if the producers were to offer the right amount of money.

Speaking about his various roles, Rylan told The Sun: “Personally when I signed up to do Xtra Factor I looked at it as a one year thing. We’ve both got our other jobs that we love and always will have hopefully.

“But we’ve both been looking at this as just a one season thing so wanted to enjoy it and take it for what it is and if were are going to go out we want to go out on a high.”

When quizzed about an actual figure that he couldn’t refuse if it was on the ITV table, he teased: “If they off us a couple million then f*** it!”

Simon Cowell might have to part with a large sum of cash even before extending Rylan’s contract, as the presenter previously joked about suing the music mogul after he made a gay sex joke live on air.

The X Factor boss, 57, was taking part in a Q&A session on the music competition’s spin-off show, whereby Rylan and Matt asked the judges to pick a door to choose which caller would then ask a question.

During the segment, Rylan said: “I love a front door,” to which Simon quickly replied: “I thought you liked a back door.”

The controversial remark prompted gasps from the audience, but Rylan hilariously fired back: “Oh Simon! Shall I show you how much?”

Later realising his mistake, Simon issued an apology for his comment and claimed it as the reason why he “should never do live TV.”

Rylan then responded to the incident himself, insisting that it was a “joke between friends”, but then added: “I’ll get him to buy me a house in Ibiza whilst threatening to sue him.” Win-win.
