X Factor 2016: Saara Aalto reveals she dumped her famous boyfriend for a lesbian superfan

Saara Aalto secured herself a spot in the live X Factor finals over the weekend, with Sharon Osbourne giving the Finnish singer one of just three spots in her category.

Now the hopeful has opened up about her personal life, revealing that she used to be one half of Finland’s most famous power couples before she ended things for a female superfan.

We could never see this happening with Posh and Becks.

Saara admitted to The Sun that she dumped Finnish star Teemu Roivainen after nine years together after meeting dedicated fan, Meri Sopanen.

The lovebirds are now engaged and Saara has even hired Meri as her manager.

She explained: “I was in The Voice of Finland in 2012 and my girlfriend — fiancée now — watched the show, liked me a lot and sent me a fan message through Facebook.

“She wrote, ‘I have never, ever sent a message like this to anybody, but I just had this intuition that I have to send this to you.’ I was like, ‘That’s so cute’, and thought, ‘What a nice-looking girl.’

“Then, after a year, she actually came to my concert and we met. We started talking and realised we just shared the same view of life and everything.”

The pair dated for two years before the engagement this year, with Saara insisting that she is still good friends with Teemu who she dated from the age of 15.

Saara will be taking to the live X Factor stage for the first time on Saturday alongside the likes of Honey G, Matt Terry and Emily Middlemas.
