The last of this year’s X Factor auditions featured some of the best singers of the series as well as some of the most bizarre.

After failing to agree on many of the wannabe stars on Saturday night, the judges seemed to finally be on the same page during Sunday’s episode.

While they were unanimous in turning away some of the more off-the-wall auditionees, Simon Cowell, Nicole Scherzinger, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh also seemed to agree on who should go through to next week’s boot camp.

From a professional backing singer to a 1990s fan, here are the best auditions from episode eight:

Jenny, 25

After her best friend Johnny failed to get through just minutes before she took to the stage, Jenny had mixed emotions about performing in front of the judges.

Luckily for the wannabe star all four judges were seriously impressed with her rendition of Titanium.

With a tear in her eye, guest judge Alesha Dixon told her that she’d “just got it” while Simon Cowell described her as an “underdog” who had finally come into her own.

Reuel, 21

Bringing some serious energy to the audition room, 21-year-old Reuel went back to the 1990s with his version of Montell Jordan’s This is How We Do It.

While the judges agreed that his voice wasn’t the strongest they had heard, they all loved his dance moves and rap skills, which had even Simon singing along by the end.

“I don’t know how great your voice is but you brought the energy,” said Sharon Osbourne ahead of his four ’yeses’.

Berget, 45

The Dutch songstress wanted her time to shine after working as a back up singer to big acts in Holland for the last two decades.

Despite her idol being Shaka Khan, Berget sung Prince classic Purple Rain, hoping to finally get her time in the spotlight.

Cowell dubbed the singer “unbelievable”, but seemed concerned about her age, saying that he would be “jumping out his seat” if she was twenty years younger.

Despite his reservations the singer earned herself four ‘yeses’ and a place at Boot Camp.

Just Us, 67 and 70

Carol and Anna-Maria have been best friends for 30 years and finally decided to try their luck in front of the judges.

Their version of Abba’s Hasta Mañana might not have been a vocal triumph, but they certainly put a smile on the judges’ faces, especially when they were joined by Scherzinger and Walsh on stage.

“Some things don’t work, this does,” said Cowell, as he unbelievably put them through to the next round.

The X Factor continues next Saturday at 8pm.
