The sometimes-brutal Six Chair Challenge continued on Sunday night as attention turned to finalising two categories.

Simon Cowell and Ayda Field completed their teams – after Cowell instigated a sing-off between Georgia Burgess and Maria Laroco – to send their special six through to Judges’ Houses .

Then, it was time for Louis Tomlinson to make his way through the boys’ category and decide the lucky acts packing up for a house visit.

Here are five of the best from the second of three Six Chair Challenge episodes…

Janice Robinson

Janice, 50, won a standing ovation from the judges and audience for her rendition of Natural Woman by Aretha Franklin.

Mentor Field told her she “bowed down to her” before finding herself with little choice but to give Janice a seat, ousting Cezar in the process.

Danny Tetley

The Benidorm performer didn’t get off to the best of starts with his version of The Show Must Go On by Queen.

Asked to repeat his first audition by Field, the 37-year-old belted out Jennifer Hudson classic And I Am Telling You (I’m Not Going), winning the hearts of a nation – and, more importantly, a seat.

After Danny is told to replace Burgandy Williams, the 41-year-old takes the seat and walks off stage with it – somewhat determined to quite literally keep it – before she sings with Panda Ross and they end up as a duo in Robbie Williams’ Groups category.

Tommy Ludford

The songwriter, who works as a cleaner, got off to a sweeping start with his powerful and catchy original song but soon shot to the top of the memorable auditions list as he walked back a bit too far and fell off the stage, guitar in hand.

Hearing a thud, concerned judge Tomlinson, host Dermot O’Leary and some crew rushed on scene and thankfully Tommy was soon up on his feet gesturing he was alright – he even got to sit down after.

Anthony Russell

The labourer, from Liverpool, glided through last year’s Six Chair Challenge but pulled out of the competition for personal reasons during Judges’ Houses.

Returning this year, Anthony showcased his talent and how his friendship with Tomlinson has helped him get back on the right track, paying tribute to his journey with a poignant performance of Help From My Friends, by Joe Cocker.

For his efforts, the 28-year-old is given the last seat in Tomlinson’s category – signalling the start of the chopping and changing.

Brendan Murray

Knowing all the seats of full of outstanding talent, Brendan gave it his all with Everybody Hurts by R.E.M in a bid to upend somebody from their white egg seat and steal it for himself.

The 21-year-old plumber managed to do just that – and he can stay put in the seat after receiving the Golden X from Tomlinson.
