Somehow, we've already reached the semi-final stage of The X Factor, so what better way to celebrate than by signing up to audition for next year's series?

Yep, it's that time again already.

Auditions for The X Factor 2018 are officially open! So if you think it's time for you to face the music (and the judges), then look no further.

Because it's the 21st century, you can now submit auditions online – or sign up to attend a face-to-face audition in a venue near you.

All you have to do is fill in an application form, be aged 14 or over, and be able to sing. Unless you're going down the novelty route, of course.

Although we've still got a couple of weeks until 2017's X Factor run draws to a close, we're not the only ones thinking ahead about the show's future it seems.

In light of this series' changes, like the Prize Fight sing-off and double eliminations, Simon Cowell's long-time friend and fellow BGT judge Amanda Holden has said why she thinks The X Factor's format is always open to a rejig.

Chatting to Digital Spy, Amanda said: "I suppose The X Factor is a more dynamic, hard-hitting show. It's the music industry – that's how it is.

"Also, Simon is the king of chop and change. He's always thinking of ways to improve."

The X Factor airs on on ITV on Saturdays and Sundays.
