X Factor: 4th Impact Want To Win To Help Fund Surgery For Their Dad’s Brain Tumour

X Factor girl group extraordinaires 4th Impact [née 4th Power] have revealed the extra-important reason behind their decision to enter this year’s competition.

Their 59-year-old father Dominador needs life-changing surgery for a brain tumour, which threatens to leave him blind if it’s untreated.

Unfortunately, the surgery costs £10,000, so the girls - Almira, Irene, Mylene and Celena - are hoping being on (and potentially winning) the show will help raise the funds needed.

Speaking to The Mirror, Almira explained: “Our dad can’t work now as he has a brain mass and when it gets bigger he is going to be blind.

“He needs an operation but we don’t have the money to pay for it. That’s one of the main reasons we want to do the X Factor.

“He was diagnosed last year and he has been hospitalised, but we need money for the operation. We need to raise £10,000 to pay for it.”

Irene added that their dad now ‘pushes a cart and collects rubbish’, having previously worked as a machinist.

She admitted: “His illness has affected us so much. Every time we sing, it’s for him. It’s our motivation. He inspires us.

“Sometimes when we sing he can’t see or us or hear us as he’s unwell. It’s very hard for us to be strong and it’s our motivation. He inspires us and we would love him to come over to the UK and see us in the X Factor.”

The family of eight - Dominador, Erlindo (4th Impact’s mum) and six children - grew up in Santiago City, Philippines.

The country has been devastated by Typhoon Koppu, which hit on Sunday.

Expressing their heartbreak over the situation, Almira said: “I think there is no electricity in our hometown.

“Their houses are destroyed and I think our relatives are safe, we are thankful for that, but knowing we were born from there and there’s a big calamity that they are facing right now it’s very terrible.

“Now we are experiencing this glamour on X Factor but then our relatives there are experiencing that, it’s very heartbreaking.”

Irene added that the group were praying for those affected.

The girls will face mentor Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and her celebrity helper Jess Glynne during this weekend’s Judges’ Houses.
