The X Factor judge Ayda Field was left a little weepy-eyed after Danny Tetley's performance tonight (November 17).

Vocal powerhouse Danny wasn't interrupted by any technical glitches this week thankfully, and his rendition of Frank Sinatra's 'My Way' brought the house down.

He even had judge Simon Cowell on his feet and emotionally spent.

Many fans at home were also blown away by Danny's performance:

However, as Ayda's cheeks glistened with tears and you could see her straining to hold it together, her actions have been questioned by many fans on social media.

Are these unfounded remarks or could there be some gamesmanship going on here?

Danny is Ayda's last contestant in the competition, and some fans speculated that her tears were a ploy to save Danny for another week.

Meanwhile, fellow judge Louis Tomlinson has been stealing the show through his touching bromance with scouser Anthony Russell.

The two shared a warm embrace onstage following Anthony's triumphant performance tonight and it was almost too much to bear for some of those watching at home.

While Louis proved to be a model judge, Robbie Williams on the other hand was absent for a third week running due to prior touring commitments, with Nile Rodgers filling in once again. Will he return next week?

The X Factor returns tomorrow (November 18) on ITV.
